Night shoots, early calls and long days. A lot of standing in the rain being polite to strangers who want to walk through your cordon. Holding a gate for twelve hours. Watching a compound at 3am when nothing happens, which is the job going well.
It is casual. Work is not guaranteed and you are not obliged to take a shift. But if you accept one, turning up matters more here than almost anything else, because a missing guard on a call sheet is a production’s problem within minutes.
You do not need film experience. We train that part. You do need a current COA, the right to work in New Zealand, and a way of getting to a 5am call.

Step 2 — Shortlist. If we want to take it further we email you a second, longer form and arrange a twenty minute interview.
Starting rate. $25/hr plus 8% holiday pay, so $27/hr gross. Most people start there. Rate reviews come quickly for people who prove reliable on shift.
